Kiveton Katapultz Flyball Club was initially set up by the founder members Lois Longstaffe, Nigel Rose, Christine Garner and Tricia Larder. Funding was secured from Awards For All in May 2007. This is specific to the Club running in Kiveton South Yorkshire, bringing like minded people from the local community and from all walks of life together who have a love of dogs and who enjoy outdoor activities.
It was decided to hold an open day at the club’s training ground on the regenerated old Kiveton Colliery site. This was to demonstrate and publicise the sport within Kiveton and the wider community. The event generated a lot of interest and since the official first training day 19th May 2007 the club can now boast 21 members. Interest in the club continues to grow with coverage by the local press and radio interviews. New members are always welcome to come along and train and then hopefully compete in local tournaments.
If you enjoy spending quality time with your dog and would like to learn a new sport together, this could be for you. People of all ages can take part. Most breeds of dog can be trained as long they have basic obedience and enjoy playing ball.
Kiveton Katapultz train every Saturday morning between 10.00-12.30 rain or shine at the old Kiveton Park Colliery site, just behind the pit offices.
